Browstix ‘V’ Wooden wax sticks

Brow waxing

Brow Waxing is a quick, gentle and long lasting way to define the shape of your eyebrows. This treatment is offered by most beauty salons on a pre-booked appointment or by brow bars on a ‘walk-in’ basis.

Removing Individual hairs by plucking takes much longer and you may run the risk of getting carried away with the tweezers, ending up with bald patchy or in a continual process of trying to remove stray hairs, especially any fluffy ones.

Threading, whilst precise and increasingly popular, tends to hurt more than waxing and takes a little longer.

Having your eyebrows waxed does not take very long in the hands of a professional and the results are clean precise lines and a beautiful finish.

The First Forever Wax Stick

So why this new concept to waxing? Did you know on average most therapists are using 5 single sided wax brow wooden sticks per client, based on 10 clients per day, in a year that is approximately 2 kilos of wood per year. Now that’s food for thought?⁣

This is where the idea of the First Forever Wax Stick was born by Niki Khela of Browfix UK.

Niki was shocked at the amount of waste per client not to mention the environmental impact and cost and felt there had to be a more kinder alternative.

She discussed some ideas with her husband whose background is Precision Engineering, having designed boats, telecoms structures and equipment.

He created various prototypes of the Browstix out of different metals to trial several years ago.

The Browstix was finally ready to launch after much testing and trialling to ensure the weight and length was ergonomically balanced for the therapist using it.

The Browstix is made from surgical stainless steel to guard against rusting and so that it lasts forever.

Hygiene

Cleaning the wax stick is so easy our cleaning video is on our Browstix page when you go to order.

So many therapists all over the world have made the switch. Even more so as a result of this pandemic. Wooden wax sticks are normally in jars or containers on your work surface open to airborne germs and viruses. The Browstix is super clean, you can sterilise in an led machine and autoclave without ever compromising the quality. There are no coatings, markings or indentations whereby germs could to missed during cleaning.

5 sticks per client - as no double dipping is allowed! And banned in most countries.

10 clients per day

That equates to 12,000 per year... now that’s a lot of wax sticks. That’s a whopping £720 based on £0.06 per stick

Double sided

Total used for the week based on 5 working days = 150 double sided wax sticks

That equates to 720 per year... now that’s a lot of wax sticks. That’s a whopping £432 based on £0.06 per stick.

We hope this article has been helpful and gives you a little more insight into the changing world of beauty. A lot of salons are going green and trying to implement zero waste where possible.

Have you made the switch?

Have a great weekend,

Love,

Niki & Peter Khela
